Improve Workers Ergonomics

Occupational Health & Safety

Occupational Health and Safety is everyone's responsibility and business. In recent years companies in the construction industry has put increasing focus on the topic and rightfully so, as construction is the most unsafe sector, with the highest frequency of injuries in industrialized countries.

Workers Ergonomics

Static and repetitive work must be reduced!

Static and repetitive work is very common in construction. This applies, for example in the assembly process and the preparation of the steel frames, for mounting light gypsum walls. It is essential for the workers' health, that such work is reduced, and that all occupations/ industries focus on reducing the proportion of work with such tasks.

The repetition of movements give rise to body stress - even in situations where limited weight is involved. These movements is sufficient to result in stress of muscles in a disadvantageous manner. The consequences are only gradually felt, which increase the risk, that the damage can take a long time to heal.

Safety on Site

The responsible employer does not see safety improvements as an additional cost element, but rather a means to ensure that the productivity of the business is optimized, and to reduce claims for down time due to injury. But most importantly ensure that his workers are motivated/happy and that everyone can safely go home from the workplace to their families.

Drywall mounting may seem like a relatively low risk process, however during the drywall process, the construction site is often packed with workers, often with several of different types of craftsmen working across a number of different tasks on relatively small spaces - this contributes to a risky work environment - for example if one worker leaves an unsafe installation like a line of loose friction based studs!

The most common causes of musculoskeletal disorders are adverse ergonomic conditions at work. Physical relation may be that the work is too heavy, the monotonous and/or carried out in unfavorable postures, or lasts too long.

Several individual operations, each of which is not considered heavy, can also put together, and over time result in high total load. The sum of the individual loads can then lead to injury
